The Hill Country Amateur Golf Classic

November 16-18, 2006     Austin, Texas

Dear Fellow Golfers,

Due to sponsorship and management changes we have decided to postpone the 2007 Hill Country Amateur Golf Classic until 2008. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for their support over the last 2 years and look forward to a "new look" championship in 2008, with new sponsors and lots of exciting changes to the tournament. Until then good golfing and drive safely.

Tip of the Week:

We have all arrived at the course, at times, later than we wanted and unable to really practice or warm up. I have found that to help my tempo and relax and get that “rushed” feeling toned down, I putt a few long putts from the edge of one side of the green trying to stop the ball at or near the edge of the other side.

If there is time, I do this until I feel I have calmed down. This also works with short pitch shots where the drill is to hit the ball squarely.

At first you will probably hit the ball all over the clubface. After you relax and get your tempo back you will find you will start hitting the ball in the sweet spot. . ........JACK BERTRAM, Director Tournament Operations, Texas Golf Company
